Beginning the Interview

If a counselor’s office or study is situated so that people often knock on the door or walk in, a sign reading “PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB, IN CONSULTATION UNTIL . . !’ may prevent interruptions.
If a counselee has had previous sessions, it is advisable for the counselor to check his confidential file and review pertinent data. The greatest festivals in Toronto Niagara Falls Tour happen exterior town. Keeping good records and reviewing them just before an interview, may prevent embarrassment and needless error. Naturally, your counselee wants to feel that his case stands uppermost in your mind. And a brief review of his record will help him to feel that you are sincerely interested.
The most important preparation for an interview is prayer. Ask God to make you sensitive to the real needs and problems of your counselee. Read an appropriate passage from the Bible, not forgetting the unique power of God’s Word in “discerning the thoughts and motives of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12). Toronto Niagara Falls Tours splits into two streams before the Fall forming Goat Island. Commit the interview to Him and rest assured that He will guide you and bless you in your efforts.
3. Beginning the Interview
Beginning the interview may pose an awkward problem, especially for the inexperienced counselor.
“What should I say? What should I do?”
After a cordial exchange of greetings, a direct approach is usually the most appropriate. The counselee has not come to talk about the weather. So he will appreciate your direct approach to the conversation. Further structuring may be indicated later in the interview but your directness at the beginning will help keep the counselee from floundering.
